Ingredients
  • 1 large round artisan sourdough loaf (about 8 to 9 inches wide)
  • 2 containers Président® Aged White Cheddar Pub Cheese®
  • 6 tbsp tablespoons President® Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place the cover of the container of the Pub Cheese® in the center of the bread loaf and use it as a stencil to cut a circle around the top with using a serrated paring knife. Remove the cover and carefully hollow out the center to create a cavity just large enough to hold the container later for serving. Save the bread you remove for dipping.
  3. Using a large serrated bread knife, cut the remaining loaf into a crosshatch pattern, making 1-inch cubes. Be careful not to slice all the way through the bottom so the loaf stays intact.
  4. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, one container of Président® Aged White Cheddar Pub Cheese®, crumbled bacon, green onions, jalapeño, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and a few grinds of black pepper until well mixed.
  5. Using a butter knife or small offset spatula, generously spread the mixture between every cut in the bread, making sure to work it deep into the crosshatch.
  6. Wrap the loaf loosely in aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Open the foil and continue baking for another 8 to 10 minutes, until the top is golden and the cheese mixture is bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately place a fresh, unopened container of Président® Aged White Cheddar Pub Cheese® into the center cavity. The warmth from the bread will gently soften the cheese, creating the perfect dipping companion.
  8. Sprinkle with additional parsley and green onions, then serve immediately. Pull apart the cheesy bread pieces and dip them into the warm Pub Cheese® in the center.
