Camembert Cheese

A statue of Marie Harel stands in the small village of Camembert, located in Normandy, France. During the French Revolution, Harel housed a priest in exile from Brie (the historic region – he was not fleeing from cheese). In exchange for shelter, the priest shared his cheese-making secrets. Similar in texture to Brie, Camembert has a stronger, slightly pungent flavor. Regarded for its creamy core, it’s highly versatile and highly delicious.
